Lock & Paddle 2025

Every year Parks Canada hosts a huge canoe and kayak meetup on the Trent-Severn Waterway giving paddlers an opportunity to ride the Peterborough Liftlock. Visitors of all skills and backgrounds are invited to come together and pack the locks for this one-day event celebrating these historic treasures. Last year they also added two new locations which has carried over to this year as well.
Celebrate Canada’s Parks Day on the water with hundreds of your fellow paddlers at historic sites in Ontario and Quebec. Parks Canada’s annual Lock & Paddle event combines colour and community as canoes and kayaks from all around descend upon the historic canals and waterways for a day like no other. Get your friends and family together, decorate your vessel, and come take part in a story you’ll be telling for years to come.
Lock & Paddle will take place at 3 separate sites in Ontario and Quebec on the same day (July 19th, 2025).
All paddlers/passengers must wear a PFD in order to participate.
