B.C. Cafe Receives Cease-And-Desist For "Canoe" Name

A cafe in British Columbia received a cease-and-desist letter from a "multi-billion-dollar company out of the U.S." for using the word “canoe” in their business name. Canoe Coffee Roasters serves many different coffee options and even recently won “Best Espresso” at a local Vancouver festival.
They originally served coffee out of a trailer at local farmers markets and now have a café on the north side of downtown Kelowna. Rather than fight the cease-and-desist they are going to change their name.
